Business As Usual

There was no denying he was arrested genius. It was the rest of your post. “The police where called due to rough sex” etc etc.etc. He was the one that called the police you idiot. You have been warned. Get your facts straight as to everything else that was posted other than the arrest that was the only fact about his or his wife you have correct. Why do you seem to want to spend time bashing Bob Seeger? Did you work for us in the past and we fired you? Why would you want to spend you time on a public forum discussing someone and something you CLEARLY know nothing about. You posted slanderous things and defamed someone’s character there are laws against that. I am surprised someone as brilliant as yourself didn’t realize this before you began typing. Maybe the judge when you are brought to court will explain that to you. You being brought to court IS A CERTAINTY! !!!

Who pled guilty to drug charges and entered a program for first time offenders?

Post the police report and prove me wrong about the facts.

Also, you want to sue me for libel, not “charge me” with slander.

Sorry to the rest of the readers for diverting from the bigger issues in PA racing. This is the last I’ll write about this subject.

Boy you don’t get it. Him being arrested is fact. It was all the other things you wrote. Go back and read your own post. See you in court and that is also FACT.

In case you forgot go back and read your post on May 23,2010.

Um, your name is not Bob Seeger by chance, is it?

unless he registered under someone else’s email, nope.

And now, back to our regular scheduled programming…Paalease!

I am glad I didn’t drive two hours to attend the horseman’s meeting just so I could watch the fireworks. Boy you guys really showed them! The sound of crickets must have been deafening. As I suspected, its easy to run your mouth and make threats and such while hiding behind a screenname.

Well Laurie you might still get a chance to apply to run a portion of the “Retirement program”.
They expect 200 horses a year to run thru it and after 30-60 days of let down and retraining get sold for a cap fee of $800.

This whole charade made me want go buy a penn horse just so I could show up and speak-up.
Not as a raving person with aggrievence to penn…got none…not as a PETA Horse Hoarding bleeding heart…not that either. But someone who doesn’t have a personal axe to grind and someone they can’t intimidate cause I have nothing to be afraid of…what they gonna do to me???

A whole room full of people and Murray stood up and how many backed her up…shame on you.
Penn is’t the only race track in PA.

The jocks stood up for themselves and you all can’t??

Dickie what did they do to you??

You all want change then let cool head prevail form a group stay united pick your battles.

SB and DW just got themsleves a funded retirement plan for their horses. Guess they can cancell the trucks still pulling out of driveway as we speak.

What the heck happened at the meeting?? Are you saying nothing?? after all this? Please tell me it’s not so…

I think those that went to the meeting are still a little in shock. HPBA had a plan and they stuck to it. Its never easy to get your personal agenda on a planned meeting. I should have been there and I wasn’t my case is just not ready yet and the players in the game have put up a helluva wall time and time again. Fighting from 2,000 miles away is difficult on the best of days especially when the information you request never arrives.

Hopefully we will get a decent write up on WTH happened from our end as the only thing I have been told was it was a disaster.

yes, this is true, and everyone knew this was the intended purpose.

There was no discussion ---- what there was was an outline of how it was going to go. SB in charge of funding, allocating,
approving, delegating.
And this program will NOT be called a “rescue”, or “adoption” … but a RETRAINING program

Rent Two farms — both need indoors. HBPA will fund. The first farm for evaluatons – where horses will first be…

  1. determined for quality of life

  2. suitable enough for retraining
so, the horse will either pass over the rainbow or onto the farm #2
    where:

  3. people riding/training will be paid $100 (I gathered that was per/horse ridden) when the horse is sold.
no details, but what if 3 people start riding and all 3 ride this horse… and it sells for 300… so no money back to the fund?
those little details werent offered. what if there are 4 people who ride…and the horse sells for $300?

  4. horses will be sold between $300-$700 –

  5. sold in 60 days or less.

Murray did challenge this…made the outright statement that this wont work, that there was already a rescue program in place and why not put the funds toward that?..
>> in a well rehearsed statement, SB and TM stated, (not open for discussion)… “that program didnt work”,. Period~ end of subject.

and Murray said this amount of money is much too big an investment, then why not invest in the other rescues of the area who are already in place, have and use their networks,
SB mumbled something, but really didnt have an answer other than…her program was the direction they were going.

– Murray brought up that the horses will not sell in that time frame and eventually this idea will clog with too many horses.

SB countered by saying,
$10 given for each horse racing
$ 3-5 each race from the jockeys
and of course, those private donations.
plus there will be nationwide advertising, special events to promote sales, blah, blah, blah…sure, 60 days is reasonable.

Here is a website with FREE, SOUND, TB's

http://www.thehorse.com/Horses/Available.aspx?breed=thoroughbred
many are restarted, site even dates when ad was posted.

It was all stated as if fact already.
There were folks there who run a rescue... (not sure how they gained access>)......... but had their hands out real quick for some of that funding... although SBjust finished saying the program wasnt going that direction.
There was no mention of how these farms were to be manned or daily care provided by whom?....

And then SB asked those interested in riding/training or volunteering. to please sign up. Meeting adjorned.

Providia: On the ice house. That was addressed. The reason SB had the ice house locked and she had the keys was to see if the machines were working. They are. So, its been determined that there is overuse of ice. The machines are making plenty, the solution if for those taking to be in consideration of others needing ice too.
Now, there are options: Lock it, bag it, sell it, and hire someone to man this job. For now, just ask everyone to share.

:sigh::no:

SB most definitley sounds clueless as to the realities and logistics of Thoroughbred’s after their racing career is over.

Then again, that’s not hard to believe considering her previous methods of retirement.

This article also made it to The Horse…

Not that anyone asked for my opinion and I know there are legitimate questions that remained unanswered but I think some perspective is needed here. Since this thread began, Mike Gill really did go out of business for the hundredth and hopefully last time. Score a major one for the horses and the jockeys there. Penn National HPBA really is working on some type of program to help horses that need retired. I am sure it won’t be perfect and people will still have legitimate gripes about it that hopefully can lead to further improvements etc but anything is better than the Monday morning express to New Holland that has been operating there for decades. Score another major one for the horses.

Fighting and name calling over accusations and things that happened in the past will not help a single one of those horses from the past. Let it go, put your efforts towards helping to save the ones that are still alive. In short, be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

It is my understanding that Murray Rojas and Dick Hertz were basically the only two in attendance that asked any questions. Im not sure what those questions were, but I hear it led to some type of committee being formed that Dick Hertz will be strongly involved in.

Does anyone know anything about this committee?

Steph is going to pattern the PN program after New Vocations
http://horseadoption.com/about/
they are an excellent source of support and information
and do have many working programs already in place.

With this type of guidance, especially from Anna Ford,
the PN program has a lot going for it … and surely has
the chance to be very successful.

As was said, it at least stops the direct line to the slaughter
houses – and now, no horse has reason to be unaccounted
for.

I would not send any of my horses through this so called new program. It is a joke. I do not trust the people in charge of it. This is about certain people’s own agenda to form an outlet for them and to get rid of the horses as quickly as possible.
Any trainer with any horse sense knows that some horses are not going to heal from their injuries in 30 to 60 days to be retrained. Besides most horses need some down time from the track before they are even ready to learn something new. Stephanie Beattie should know that as well as our HBPA board members that are trainers. At least Murray Rojas told them that. For Stephanie Beattie to be in charge of this when she has several horses missing and cannot tell anyone where they are is an even bigger joke.

New Vocations adopts mares out for breeding to Quarter Horse and Appaloosa people, A trainer friend of mine in Ohio called them once about a mare he wanted to retire and when they said they would need the original foal papers as they adopt mares out to be bred, the trainer decided not to send the mare there because he did not want her bred. I don’t know about anyone else’s viewpoint about this but I do not see how adopting horse’s out to be bred to make more horses is helping the situation.
