Does anyone know if you can actually damage the premium leather on Butet saddles if you don’t use their branded soap? I recently bought a used Butet with premium leather that was in my price range(ish) and I’m worried about damaging it if I use what I have on hand, which is the Stubben glycerine. The Butet Akene cleanser is steep at $45 so looking for any and all guidance. Thank you!
Honestly I think most quality leather care products are interchangeable. Have a look at the ingredients.
I have a Butet premium and also worked at a barn sponsored by Butet so we had dozens of premiums and we just used regular old saddle soap. I do have the Butet conditioner and love it, but certainly not necessary.
