Hi! I’ve had my current butet premium for 7 years and it recently made a clicking noise. I flipped it over and saw what was attached below. I’m having a fitter look Saturday at the tree and am not using it until it is cleared but was wondering if anyone else has had something similar happen to their saddle. I have already accepted my fate of a tree replacement if necessary but am hoping for like a loose rivet or something.
I don’t think there are rivets/screws in the middle of the tree. Friend at the barn had her Antares screws loosen and start wearing through the underside of her saddle, but they were close to the tree points at the front of the saddle. Had to replace the tree although it wasn’t “broken”. Does the saddle flex or squeak if you push down on it lengthwise? That would be bad…
No flex or squeak in the saddle at all which is the weird part
I am super intrigued. Will you post and let us know?
I think that is just the billet attachments. Probably not related to the clicking.
One could feel the edge of the tree head on my very old Butet as the leather wore thin. It looked different from this but it might be similar…. It did not touch the horse’s back.
