Butet saddles - reps coming to reflock wool saddle

So unfortunately for my wallet, I’ve fallen in love with Butet saddles. Typically I buy saddles used, but I’ve spoken with a Butet rep about the wool-flocked saddles and how they can be adjusted frequently by the rep to fit the horse’s changing back. Is there anyone out there who has a Butet that can attest to how often the rep is able to get out to you to adjust the flocking? I have a contact in Ocala who is able to get hers adjusted fairly regularly, but I’m in the midwest. The ability to fit the saddle to the horse’s changing back is the major selling point for me, so I just want to make sure that I’ll be able to get the rep to come out. Thanks in advance!

I thought they were foam flocked? I find Butets fit so well, they don’t really need adjusting even with changes. They are pretty flexible. Just my experience,

It really depends on your horse.

I find that with a new wool saddle or freshly reflocked one you need a top-up after about 6 months depending on how the wool settles and packs. You may need a total reflock after 5 years. This is separate from whether your horse’s back changes shape. A horse can still outgrow a wool flocked saddle. The amount of difference wool flocking can make is important but also rather subtle.

Do you need the butet representative to be involved,? Would the rep actually be a trained saddle fitter or would they be sending the saddle away (most likely,)? Can you work with a local independent saddle fitter?

I just doubt the butet rep is going to be stitching leather in their basement. Reflocking a saddle requires taking the saddle apart.
