Where is everybody buying and selling used tack these days? Are any of the Facebook groups good? I used to use eBay or FB marketplace but they seem pretty slow for high end tack.
I’ve listed several nice pieces on Thermal Classifieds with no luck (talking average size Equifit girths…). I have purchased a LOT from the Tried Equestrian and finally met the owner at Thermal! If you don’t mind someone taking a cut, at least there’s a better chance of selling it that way…YMMV.

I have still been able to sell things on FB in groups like English Tack Trader and High End English Tack. I find that it is hit or miss as to whether things sell really quickly, or whether my listing just sits. When something doesn’t sell in the first week, I’ve found it better to just delete that listing, wait a bit, then relist. Sometimes things that didn’t sell the first time are gone in 24 hours the second time! I don’t do FB payments or general FB marketplace, only the targeted groups.

I’ve had a good experience selling through Tried Equestrian. They take a cut so you won’t make as much as you could selling it yourself but it’s worth it IMO to not have to deal with the hassle. There are too many scammers out there these days, I won’t buy or sell over Facebook anymore unless it’s someone I know.
