Buying from Bowie “kill pen”?

That makes me sad… she looks like a really nice horse… and she ends up at Bowie?

Not at Bowie, but Before the End of the Line has a couple of TBs and one they describe as a WB type. The horses are usually in PA near Pittsburgh and another location in Ohio.

This one was a pony horse.

One they describe as 6 yrs old WB type mare

They are legit, a couple of friends of mine have picked up horses from there.

I agree, she looks like a good one. I want someone from here to snag her to be able to follow along with her story.

Oftentimes Bowie is the great cosmic reshuffler.

Horses that had a stroke of bad luck in the ownership lottery get another chance.

Some COTH lottery winners from there are Nosey and Forest and Bonnie and Honey who are living THE LIFE now.

There are more I am forgetting, I have one from a few years ago that is a gem.

Really hope she wins the lottery this round.

Anyone catch the chestnut tb’s lip tattoo? At one point when he was cantering towards the camera I thought she was going to start crow hopping

He couldn’t read the letter bit believes she’s 17. The numbers were 0465 or 0463.

This sure sounds like her Tattoo K04662 Noodling

I used my Jockey Club account and found the same name and description! Sounded to me like it matched. I just wanted to check a few more years, but I’m glad that we “agree.”

Hope she finds a safe landing.

Same here. I tinkered with the year a bit but didn’t find anything better. I think I put in year, then 044_ _. What sold me was the description of the sock

Wow, there are some great horses of my youth in that pedigree: Arts and Letters, Olden Times, and further back good ol’ Tom Fool. This is yet another horse that if I still had my parents’ ranch I’d take her just because.

I got Banjo in May shortly after Nosey went to 5bayboys. They might have been there about the same time. He’s a 4 yr old TB dumped from training in Lexington, it looked like. When the guy at Bowie trotted and cantered him in the aisle on the video, I could see his temperament and had been looking for a buddy for my other OTTB for awhile. After an initial rough bout with colic, he is fat and happy and a total sweetheart. Was afraid of the hose turning on, spray bottles and forget clippers. Started riding him when it cooled off here and haven’t been super consistent but he is so smart and tries hard. Love him to pieces.

I love your horse! So glad you got him and share his journey here, he really hit the good home jackpot.

I saw him and was twisting in knots to keep myself from that cart button. Another great one from Bowie!

You saw him on the Bowie website? I’m sorry you didn’t get him, but glad I did . He might have a wind issue, and sometimes his back seems a little touchy, but if any of those surface as real problems, I still wouldn’t care. He’s had 6 months of just hanging out and playing and we’re just walking and trotting and working on bending, moving shoulders, etc. Now you can turn the hose on—even on the side of his face which is completely a turnaround, spray him with anything, and he’s good for the clippers too. He’ll literally do anything for carrots!

I can’t stay away from the Bowie website. :joy: I HAVE to look a couple times daily.

Your guy was so nice and easy going, if only I could remember people the way I do horses. I am thrilled you got him, he looks very happy to be there!

Just a somewhat better picture – the iphone really doesn’t do him justice! he looks longer-backed here than he really is. He’s very compact.

He has a sweet face and he’s obviously responding to your patience and great care. What a nice story. Perfect for the holiday season!

All, this is a good article about these bail pens and how they work. I thin kBowie qualifies:

I know Kyle. He’s a Good Heart.

Who’s Kyle?

Thanks for this

There are 4 parts to this Paulick Report. The one I first read on here is this one. Now the link has one of the other reports. I’m not sure how that happened bc I found the one I’m referencing here.
