Okay, just watched the video, go buy the pony. He is sweet! If I wanted a TB, I’d go for him, but we’re up to our eyeballs with three retirees and my daughter’s Standardbred racehorses.

Buy him. He is a very nice horse. Great attitude, nicely put together, and cute mover. Fine with that flag. What more can you ask for?

Ok all - next step. Does anyone have any quarantine barn contacts? Has anyone ever quarantined them at Bowie until they ship?

I thought Bowie had a connection to a quarantine place local to them… but I could be wrong.
Just be sure this is a gamble you want to take. And it is, indeed, a gamble. You need to ask yourself a lot of questions: What if he gets to me and once put to work, he’s unsound? What if once put to work he displays unsafe behavior like habitually rearing? Will it be okay if he’s simply a pasture pet for another 15 years or so?
Not trying to be a downer, but my auction buys over my lifetime have run about 50-50. I’ve ended up buying some wonderful horses for a song and also some that made me question my sanity.

I bought a Bowie gelding a few years ago and can PM the information of the woman who quarantined for me.
She had a nice facility and took excellent care of my guy. Not far from Bowie, and he got dropped off by Bowie there.
However, when Nosey needed to be quarantined she was difficult to reach. Perhaps it was just bad timing etc. Just hit me up if you would like her number.
No experience with Bowie quarantine, but I am pretty sure that’s where Nosey did her time.
Haulers often have quarantine suggestions, might reach out to who you will be using and see what they say.

I used the quarantine facility at Bowie last spring and I also arranged shipping through them. No complaints.

I’m even tempted by that one. Could make a nice mount for my husband (he does know how to ride) if he’s sound and sensible 
Based off of the video, for the price, even with transport and whatnot factored in, I’d take a chance on him.

I’m very critical of the KP Rescue business, but this little one is pulling at my heartstrings.
I used to work for some people that showed miniature & Shetland driving ponies. Irish Hills was a very respected breeding program, not sure what happened to it. She’s a cute little pony. I hope she lands somewhere soft.

I’m not sure I would use theirs.
I only thought of Bowie’s quarantine facility because that’s the one Nosey stayed at. I would be at a loss trying to arrange the logistics of getting any horse or pony from Bowie. I’m horrible at things like travel plans!
But I must say, I find that little black pony mare utterly adorable. She looks kinda spunky so I’m not sure what I’d ever do with her other than put her in the pony pasture at the barn and occasionally pet and groom her.

I would trust 2Bays recommendation, but as a rule any quarantine recommendation from a kb is not my choice.
Why? Because of the crap I’ve seen at these quarantine places affiliated with the KBs and “rescues”, incl CBER and AC4H.

To be clear, I would only recommend them in the sense that my purchase was not harmed at the quarantine facility, she was fed and wormed, and put on the trailer to get her home. They sent me a few pictures while she was there, showing a grassy pasture. However, since I did not personally visit the facility, I would advise anyone to do their own due diligence.
I did get a recommendation for a facility from @Kinda_Kooky but I was unable to connect with the person and time was short for me to make a decision.

Dang, I wish I didn’t see her. If I was close she’d come home to me. She is the exact type I like and I have a mini gelding who looks very similar. He’s also black. Hope she gets a good home.
