My friend bought an AQHA mare from Bowie. Someone had left a tight halter on mare and her lower lip was hanging due to nerve damage. After the quarantine period (should always send a kill pen horse to a quarantine situation for a month) she came home and started rehab training. The lower lip gradually healed the nerve damage. mare filled out and started training in Ranch riding. This last year she was the Junior Horse All Around Champion for the RMQHA in Colorado. If you want to go kill pen shopping, you need a good eye for conformation and to know bloodlines in whatever breed you are considering.

ETA: I don’t know why, but they cut the price by 50% on the 2yo chestnut TB colt I mentioned earlier. Someone needs to snap that boy up, he looks like a very chill dude.

I’d call that a bit more that a scratch (auctioneer). Kind of sad to see a 2 yo tb in that condition. I’ve been watching the tb young sales online and they all look in tip top condition. Poor little dude. I hope someone good takes him on as a sweet project.
