Why not lease? On the tripping, I used to ride a horse that had horrible conformation and stringhalt. Horse could jump the moon and never took a wrong step doing it. One day we were trail riding (which we did at least once a week). A root was exposed by rain that usually wasn’t exposed. He tripped and went to his knees and I went off. No serious injury fortunately but one trip wouldn’t bother me.
