I am considering a saddle for sale on ebay from an international seller… lots of great feedback and photos.
Has anyone done this and did you have to pay customs fees? How much? How long did it take to receive your saddle?
I am maybe not of great help, but a little maybe.
We buy often car parts in the US via ebay and have them send to Germany. We have to pay customs - amount depends on value and item. The time we wait for the items varies from 1 - 4 weeks. I guess it really depends where your international seller is from.
We have had only one time a bad experience - but the same we had in Germany from a german ebayseller.
You may have an Internet page Customs from the relevant US authorities available ? We have in Germany and can look up things.

I bought a saddle on eBay. I wouldn’t buy from anyone with less than 99% positive feedback. Also–make sure to get a lot of detailed descriptions and a picture of the serial number. Keep all your correspondence too. Just in case.
That being said, when I bought mine I was not charged customs or VAT. It was from an individual however, and not a retailer. Good luck!
Yes, I have bought a saddle from Germany and one from Canada. No problem with either.
I only buy from sellers with 100% positive feedback and I always pay with a credit card.
P.S. if it is a known saddle (Passier, Prestige, Stübben …) you can always call with the saddlenumber at the Company and they can tell you what they have on record for the saddle e.g. Stolen or if it was there because of broken tree etc. etc. and they can usually tell the age.
I purchased a “name” saddle thru Ebay UK. Worked out just fine. The saddle actually came from Sweden. Since saddle was wool flocked I was able to have the saddle totally re-flocked with new wool for 25% the price of that saddle new.
