Buying Ticket at WEG - Cheaper than Ticketmaster?

I have my most wanted tickets already, but I’ve got one or two sessions that I’d really like to add. I’m debating between using Ticketmaster and just on my first day at WEG buying tickets there for the session later in the week I’m looking at.

Buying through Ticketmaster, you get all those nice little fees added. Does anybody know if there are as many nice little fees when you buy directly at WEG?

I HOPE SO! Because that’s been my plan ever since I found out about TicketMaster fees.

Try StubHub…I sold my extra Freestlye tickets there and they have tons of every event at reduced prices! Some fees yes…but people are selling them for less than Ticketmaster!

TY TY TY!! I just got marathon day tickets on Stub Hub for $22. YEA!!

You may want to call the WEG foundation, because as far as I know tickets will NOT be sold at the gate. This may have changed this week so you might want to verify.

This is from their website. Not that that means it’s necessarily accurate . . .

All tickets will be sold on-online, through the Ticketmaster hotline, or at any Ticketmaster outlet. No tickets will be sold in person or via phone at the World Games 2010 Foundation office or the Kentucky Horse Park. All spectators, including infants and children, must have a ticket to view a competition during the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games. Once the Games begin, on September 25th, spectators will be able to buy tickets at the front gate of the Games as well as other methods listed.

So did I get ripped off buying from Ticketmaster for the show jumping? The Ticketmaster representative said they were very few left and to act fast :frowning: I guess I fell for it!! 90 dollars one night and 105 for the next night-- those were the cheapest available too…

Yeah, like I said, I would call WEG to verify. There website says everything from no to only grounds passes to this. So who knows!

Check eBay for WEG tix too. Mighty big price drops and in some cases, tix include hotel rooms too.

understand from another chatter site that the local Krogers in Lexington are offering WEG tix for sale at less than 50% of face value. I have no way to substantiate this, but would be curious to know from a local in Lexington if this is true…

Not exactly 50%, but you can save $5 on a grounds pass at Kroger:

Straight from the WEG info folks:

Tickets will be available for purchase on the Horse Park grounds once the Games begin. Thank you for your interest in the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

Will The tickets for XC be the same if they are purchased at the Horse Park or if they are purchased online? The ticket is $45, but once you add in fees and the cost of printing the ticket, it is going to cost $55. Id much rather just buy the ticket at the gate if that is possible.

Also curious about this. I have a (non-horsey) friend who wants to go for XC, but doesn’t want to buy the tickets in advance in case something comes up at the last minute and they can’t make it.
