Hi, looking for studies that show positive affect of using Calcuim and Magnesium vs Aloe Juice. OR any experiences>
Thank you!!:):)
I don’t think Aloe on it’s own can heal ulcers. Adding it to feed rations (.5-1 cup per day) is believed to help but for stronger maintenance supplements like GUT that have multiple ingredients known to help with ulcers are better.
I currently use U Gard, which has Kaolin, Calcium Carbonate, Magnesium Hydroxide Glycine, Diatomaceous Earth, Zinc Oxide, Methylcellulose, Silicon Dioxide, Dried Apple Pectin Pulp, Aloe Vera Gel, Sodium Propionate (a preservative), Iron Oxide, Natural and Artificial Flavors. ( copied from their site)
In the past I have used straight aloe juice to help coat the stomach.
I feel both have their place to coat the stomach and provide a better condition within for healing, but they don’t treat ulcers. Nothing actually treats them. They simply provide the right environment in the stomach to heal the ulcers. I’m sure someone will come on here soon and school you on that…
But I use U Gard to soothe my horse’s stomach and it does a good job of it. If I miss a dose, he’s not as happy about eating.
