I agree with Viney… Still not impressed with this colt yet. I think he will get beaten in the Belmont, he had a lot of luck in the Derby and a great ride in the Preakness. I’m looking forward to next year to see what Zenyatta’s and Rachel Alexandra’s colts will do. And, just an aside, but I think the owner’s choice of “Dumb Ass Racing” is very disrespectful to the sport… tacky.[/QUOTE]
OH FOR EFFS SAKE CAN’T EVERYONE JUST BE HAPPY FOR A COUPLE OF FREAKING HOURS!? Is there a sale on wet blankets???

Right? If he gets beat in the Belmont, so be it; if he doesn’t, are you guys going to say he doesn’t deserve to be called a Triple Crown winner?

Of course he won’t, because he didn’t have to run the race uphill the whole way, barefoot in the snow like a real racehorse would have.

You made me LOL with that last line!
And for the record, I’m a racing person and I love the name “Dumb Ass Racing.” I think it’s half the reason for his success-- donkeys are the best.

The name is “Dumb Ass Partners” … rather disrespectful not to get the name right.

I LOVED seeing CC win!! But for me, I was brought to tears when the cameras showed the trainer and his wife crying for joy so hard they couldn’t stand. CC is a great story and I hope he comes through in the Belmont!
That was my reaction too. I was so happy for them.

Yes. And that everyone else in the crop sucks, and his owners suck, and Victor Espinoza sucks, his trainer sucks, and all three tracks suck, Swaps and references to him sucks, and they were lousy times, he’s the most undeserving horse since Sir Barton…

It’s my allergies. And my contacts. And I was wearing a lot of eyeliner today. And there’s pollen. I swear.

OK, now I’m really laughing.
This happens over on hunter/jumper too, but I love how most of us complain that horse sports aren’t respected or widely followed by the general public. THEN, when a relative layman is successful, has a stable name that Joe Schmo will get a chuckle out of/remember, it’s disrespectful and the horse isn’t as good as his predecessors and is therefore undeserving… So, what is it? Do we want people to become interested in horse sports? Or should we remain the epitome of snobbery and wealth? You can’t have both. Sigh.
ROFL - I just freely admit to being a sap!!

How sad if Chrome’s co-owner didn’t attend because he was afraid of being treated poorly!

I agree. I hate it when a couple of Debbie Downers start in.
CC has already entered a group of very elite horses that have won two legs of the Triple Crown. If he wins the Belmont, he can be considered one of the best. No horse has done it since 1978.
I think this is a VERY smart racehorse, or he has one hell of a trainer. Fingers crossed and I don’t want to jinx the horse, but I think CC just might pull it off.

WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOO!
I cheered so loud, I scared the dog and had my 4yro son worried–he came running up to me, “What, Mommy? What?” …even though he’d just watched the race with me and knew to cheer for #3. Hee!
I’m so hesitantly excited. I don’t want the heartbreak again, but want to see a Triple Crown so very much.

LOL I scared a few lives off one of my cats that was sitting on my lap at the time. The look he gave me was priceless… SHES GONE NUTS!!! LOL

ROTFL!:lol::lol::lol:
But, also have to say - that horse doesn’t look spent, seems to really have his wits about him - non-plussed by the whole shebang.
Really efficient stride as well. And can he ever turn it on! And how interesting that he isn’t any incredible hulk of a horse.
Wasn’t crazy about the DAP name either, but love it now - because the people behind this horse seem to be doing everything right.
Please, let the racing gods keep this going. And may NYRA and the press crazies please not screw this up.
And really - the Triple Crown doesn’t require you be the best horse ever, simply the best of your crop. So whether he’s the second coming is irrelevant. What matters is that he’s looking to be the best 3year old in the Triple Crown hunt this year.
And it’s exciting to watch!
I loved it when the owner talked about how much they appreciate CC’s groom and named him…very nice.
Another fan…love his “look”. Here’s hoping he wins the Belmont also. Fans are long overdue.
Geez… Now I like California Chrome and his connections even more! http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/videos/13249/california-chrome-groom-raul-rodriguez
