Calling all feed experts - grain allergies - need suggestions

Progress report:

  1. Now on second tier of desensitization. It seems to be helping - no runny eyes or nose, no hives. Allergy season has started here, so I am cautiously optimistic.

  2. Did the 4-shot regimen of Zycosan in Jan/Feb. Saw major improvement with this. He is still prone to an occasional “offness” so he is getting his hocks and SI joint injected today.

  3. Had saddle checked. Saddle fitter said there was nothing technically wrong with the fit of the saddle but she could tell he just didn’t like it. Tried a few other saddles and found one with shorter panels and a flex tree which he liked the best. I bought it. He rides much better with it. Cautiously optimistic!

This has been quite the journey but I am glad to see noticeable progress. I can tell that he generally just feels better.

Now my favorite dressage instructor is moving away (cries a few tears) but I am happy that my horse can at least go out on the trails and enjoy it. We shall see what the summer brings…
