Fell into a big pile of manure during a minor trailering debacle… wearing my best pair of breeches (laugh or cry? Still can’t decide). Any tips on getting turd stains out of TS Trophy Hunters?
Get a tub of the powdered oxyclean. Fill Sink with enough HOT water to cover the breeches, add a scoop or two. Let them there for a while 5-6 hours, overnight. See how that does. Used this method to get old yellowed/stained hand made quilts white again, and it worked magic. Post back - and btw, it may take two sessions.
I have had great luck with green poo laundry stains using Cowboy Magic Green Spot Remover spray.
The spray is designed for taking manure stains off a horse. But it has worked like a charm for me in the laundry. I spray the manure stain, let it soak an hour or two, and then wash as usual.
I just got a spectacular bull poo stain off a bright yellow cotton shirt, cold water only. Had to soak it a while, but the stain came out.
I second the Cowboy Magic Green Spot Remover.
I actually keep a bottle in my laundry room for when I go out to the barn in my good jeans and swear that I won’t get them dirty
It never occurred to me to try the Green Spot removers or other “bath in a bottle” product. Makes sense. My go-to is Dawn dish soap. I soak the stain, apply Dawn and scrub then throw the whole thing in the wash (hot water if the fabric allows, at least warm water if not).
I would go with Nature’s Miracle. Apply directly to the stain, let sit for five minutes and then wash in cool water.
If the stain is still there after that, I’d go with a stain remover like Amodex and use a nail brush to push it into the fabric. Then wash in cool water.
I second this although I use cold water. I put a 2-3 scoops of oxyclean in a bucket. I used this method for my white show shirts and breeches. Tough stains may require a couple days of soaking. You can also spray with a stay remover before soaking. If this can take saddle stains out of white breeches it should work on manure stains! Good luck!
