Camera for horse shows
Does any one have opinions about buying used? Good idea? Bad idea? Ways to not get burned?
I bought a used canon 70-200 mm f2.8 from B&H Photo and have had terrible luck with it. I will never buy second hand again. I saved over $1000 buying it used but I’ve spent $600+ having it serviced & repaired PLUS it has been gone for weeks at a time.

I have the same camera but with a 18 - 140 mm lens, 3.5 to 5.6… but I am still learning to use it… and feel that I am not making much progress and always end up using the automatic mode. Sigh… I “think” I understand, but when I am taking the pictures, I forget it all…

I am going to a show on Sunday and will try to remember … but not holding my breath!

Where’sMyWhite suggested this to me when I got my camera, and it was super helpful.

Very informative thread for vlogging cameras and mirrorless cameras.

Snapshots to Great Shots sounded like a great book to get…until I saw the price of the version I needed. Yet all the other versions seem realistic!

Missing two sticks. She was always so helpful and shared her information freely. She sent me a few extensive emails on camera-related things that were very useful. :frowning:
