@Skyday in response to your question, yes I am homeschooled.
PonyPenny, We live in a world where the internet provides intersections of worlds that didnāt exist thirty years ago.
Kids can leap into adult worlds online. Sometimes this is a fruitful way to make connections that were nearly impossible in the past.
However, itās also going to be at times bumpy.
There is online culture, just like in-person culture. This culture (like in person) doesnāt enjoy rudeness, or defensiveness. Itās reasonable to call someone out if their language is culturally inappropriate. If a fourteen year old said to my face some of the things that were said here, I would ask that they and their adult companion leave my property immediately.
I do do not think it unreasonable to establish expectations of language and deportment in a productive online conversation.
Many of us (myself included) were teens with some attitude. It didnāt serve us well, and we are now being asked for opinions by someone like we used to be.
Helpfulness isnāt always presented In a comfortable, sweet package.
I think its its unrealistic to expect that the people who have been asked to help the OP by providing information, should ignore the āflavorāĀ of the response by the OP.
How is he or she being bullied? Many of us here are parents. For me, being a teacher, I worry about the safety and well-being of all the kids I come into contact with. Iād rather point out a potentially serious issue that the OP didnāt take into consideration because he or she is only 14 and have them vent at me than read a post later on about them sustaining a life-altering injury and/or PTSD from an accident that could have been prevented.
The OP came on asking how to find job in a riding camp (post deleted) then a follow-up question about how to find work/lessons barter opportunity in their area.
Over the course of the discussion the OP was rather defensive and rude.
Since OP wants to know how to get employment, I think it is completely legitimate that we point out that their stroppy attitude is going to be the biggest hurdle going forward, because it will negate even decent riding skills if they are asking for work or freebies.
If OPās parents can pay up for full board and training on a trained hunter, then OP would have more latitude to have an attitude because they are paying for the trainer to put up with it. But if OP is asking favors, they need to lose the attitude.
This is more important job search info than a list of hunter barns in their hometown.
