Can anyone lookup JC registration numbers?

I am trying to register my KWPN colt and need to submit DNA form for his dam who is TB. Form asks for registration #s for her, we sire, and her dam and of course I cannot find her papers anywhere.

Can anyone look up # for:

I Forever Do
Her sire, Good and Tough,
Her dam, Went to the Chapel?

Or know where I can do so without being a JC member?

IF you do facebook, join OTTB Connect. Someone there should be able to help you.

There really is no such thing as being a member of the Jockey Club. I would contact them directly, they are very helpful.

You can’t “look up” JC numbers. If you have markings of the horse you can grind through the tattoo lookup page and eventually get there, which is what the people at OTTB Connect do. It’s a laborsome process.

The JC might provide, but they are often stingy about giving out registration numbers.

I assume this info is on her papers if I can figure out where I put them?

Her registration number is on her papers. The sire and dam’s numbers are not.

Is she tattooed? That’s her registration number, too.

Here’s an example of the JC papers: http://www.accessathletes.com/userfiles/image/Registration%20Certificate.JPG

This horse would be tattooed with H16856.

Here’s the year of birth to letter breakdown:

First two of the reg # are the YOB that is replaced with the letter in the tattoo.

eta: I see she raced, so she’ll be tattooed. Since she’s also an 04, her tattoo will start with H and her registration # will start with 04.

I just called the Jockey Club for mine, they were a little hesitant to give registration numbers, but after I explained I was trying to get her approved for a WB registry, they gave them.

I ended up having to call them a few times for various things, they were always really helpful!

Good to know, thanks! I will call them.

I’ve also never had problems with TJC. Email or call, they are both fast and helpful. One of the best registries when it comes to customer service…

My experience too. I’ve spoken to them several times about registration matters (not numbers) and they’ve always been very helpful and easy to work with.
