Can anyone recommend a pad with pockets for a dressage saddle?

I use an ecogold pad

https://ecogold.ca/shop/memory-foam-triple-protection-half-pad-dressage

so the pocket pad does not need much padding. I really like the pocket pads for trail riding and for lessons. The pocket pads I use for my jumping saddle have too much fabric in front of the saddle. After all we want to look spiffy.

check wholesale tack. I bourght 2 for my all purpose ssaddles and it seems to me they also had dressage pads with pockets. The pockets are a nice size and close with Velcro. I have had the pads for at least 10 years and they are still in good condition,.

The pocket pads are ok but I prefer to use something like the stowaway for an english saddle because I don’t worry about the weight pulling across my horses spine, or the weight being uneven and pulling my pad to one side or another. Just another suggestion to consider

This might work

Thanks for the input so far. Greatly appreciated.

I had the valley vet pad and gave it up for a stowaway bag - the pad was a pain to get at the pockets and kind of useless on a hot day - my horse sweated through it.

The stowaway english pommel bags are great - secure, easy to get things in and out of, and very stable even if you have something heavy like a water bag in one and nothing/light stuff on the other side.

I have a dressage pad with pockets if you would be interested? it would be 20$ not including shipping.

This is what I worry about. I have the Pro-lite pad with 6 pockets. It’s curved to fit a curved back, but the channel that crosses his spine is plain stiff fabric. I also have Thinline pad with wither contour and fleece bottom. Tempted to put the Pro-lite on top of the Thinline . . . .

Pssst…Wouldn’t this be better discussed in a PM due to forum rules?

following… thanks for the link.

I gave mine away. The pockets were so low I could barely reach them while mounted without contorting myself into a pretzel. I’m short  I prefer a pommel bag or a little clip on cantle bag/stowaway.

I got a Derby Originals several years ago. It’s a pretty nice pad…big pockets that are reachable, and fleece (fake fleece) lined on the top half. It’s quite thick and well made, IMO.

Folks you are talking about two different type of pads! MUKLUK are you asking about a pad with “pockets” to place shims into? Or are you asking about pads that have two saddle bag type of “pockets” for carrying items while trail riding?

She asked in the trail forum and so we assumed she wants pockets for storage.

Pockets for storage. Thanks.
