Can chasers, cops, and the DQ. What happened??

All right, who has the scoop on the dust up this weekend between the DQs and the barrel racers at the Horse Park in Conyers, GA?

Apparently a can chaser and her horse entered the dressage show area and refused to leave. Threats with pitchforks and a mooning followed, and someone called the cops…

Come on, spill it

Lol but I want eye witness accounts!

Some comments on the Good Times Barrel Racing page…

The comments I found are in the “What a show!! Over $60,000 in cash and prizes awarded! Over 1,650 entries processed.” posting.
Pretty hilarious

You can look through the Facebook group, it’s fairly easy to find, or maybe this link will take you there. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=710481266170621&id=387287691823315&anchor_composer=false

I only see a few comments? Did some get deleted?

Did you read the last one? From what I can gather…In a nutshell the can chasers figured if the DQs could cut through their area they could too and decided to go check out how the other half lives. Turns out the other half didn’t want no dirty can chasers on their turf. 😉 Words were likely exchanged and Moons were chucked and the cops were called.

Hope somebody got all this on their Smartphone!

So who mooned who? I would guess the Can chasers mooned the DQs but I could be wrong!

Just look through the posts, the ones with the most comments have some info.

I was thinking the same thing. I actually think it would be funnier if a so-called DQ mooned the so-called Can Chaser.

I just posted a comment. Let’s see if they reply. I identified myself as a DQ.

It all sounds somewhat infantile. [TABLE=“border: 0, cellpadding: 0, cellspacing: 0”]

There are often two different disciplines having shows at the Florida Horse Park. We (local dressage club schooling show) have had issues with “others” using stalls in our barns (leaving them dirty), washing a calf in one of our stalls (!), washing RV outside our barns (flooding stalls), etc… and being nasty about it. Management is on it as much as they can be… some folks just feel entitled. And this was all before the USDF/EF mask rules… can’t wait to see how it shakes out these days.

“Can chasers” was always the derogatory term used in my area at the time for barrel racers that exhibited less than great horsemanship, starfished excessively, had tie-downs on so tight that if they snapped those horses would’ve flipped over backwards etc. etc. etc.

Being referred to as a can chaser (even by other barrel racers) was an insult in that area!

Oh for sure. I was going for equal opportunity offenses (DQ and can chaser)

What does “starfished” mean?

“Starfishing” is when a can chaser is in a starfish position on the horse, legs straight out & high, arms likewise, and butt nowhere near the saddle.

Wow. You guys are a bunch of DQs.

Unless the barrel racer was disrupting a test what a bunch of drama llamas.

My local horse park often has english and western shows at the same time. No drama.

It’s a little frustrating that we have to wear masks and they don’t but we’re using the same facility but whatever.
