I am pretty sure it doesn’t or better yet I am not sure how it could. I guess it must be more wishful thinking on my part since I am really hoping for a keeper filly this year out of our mare DoUThinkUCanDance by Amazing. This will be her 4th foal. Her first was a filly, the next two colt. This year she is carrying different that the last two. It is really hard to compare to her first pregnancy as she was a maiden and I don’t think it would be a fair comparison but if I had to, I would say she is shaped much closer to her first pregnancy, just way bigger this time. So is there really any truth to this tale? Do any other breeders notice similarities in their mare’s pregnancies and the resulting sex of their foals? Would love to hear them.
Nope, sorry, that was determined by the lucky swimmer at the time of conception 
However, the mare’s uterine environment can help increase the odds of which boy/girl swimmers live longer, and of course insemmination timing can help sway those odds too.

Its like with humans. If you get it on while you are ovulating, you’ll most likely end up with a boy but if you get it on before you ovulate, you get a girl. The XY swimmers tend to die sooner but are fast swimmers then the XX.
My sister tested this theory and ended with two girls, which she wanted.
My mare was insemenated at ovulation ( she was at Peterson and Smith) and I got a colt.
BUT! Nothing is 100% but death and taxes.
I think that I know what our poster is asking.
For instance, when I was pregnant with my girls, I carried them more up and down, while the boys were more horizontal or like lying down.
Am I correct?

Exactly. Although I know deep down in my heart that it really doesn’t make a difference, just more wishful thinking on my part since she looks so much different this time than the last two pregnancies where she carried boys.

I normally can have a good guess of colt or filly, definitely not 100% accurate though! And it’s not with every mare. I have had two this year, I was correct on both of my guesses, and I’m quite positive the next will be a filly, and not a clue about the last… post a pic
I have had great luck guessing my one mare, but not by how she was carrying though…she was always big after her first foal (she never lost the “baby belly”) but her personality was a dead give away! She had 3 fillies (4 if you count the one I had to terminate at 231 days) and one colt. With the fillies she was super laid back, with the colt she was 10 times worse then when she was in raging heat!! I know that isn’t the case for most mares, but it “worked” for guessing her foals…
