I have a Starfrit - it’s a bit tricky to get the hang of, but does work ok.
Thanks
Add me to the list of looking for a good can openers.
I searched ebay to see if I could find some of the ones suggested.
Here are some of those recommended.
add me to the list of Swing a way fans
after reading these posts, I went to look to see what mine was. It is a Swing a Way. I have had it for over 15 years, and it works well still. I wouldn’t have anything else.
I have a manual, OXO “Good Grips”, can opener that I’ve been opening pet food cans with for at least 8 years with no trouble. I use it more days than not (occasionally we get cans with pop tops, mostly cat food, some of the dogs’ favorite foods don’t have pull tabs…the aforementioned Wellness and Wysong). I also like the big, fat, grip on the OXO, much easer on my 50 year old, starting to get a bit of athritis and RSI, hands.

Wow - I really have to ask what brand of cat food you’re feeding that requires a can opener. Even the cheapest of the cheap brands have pop-tops these days.
That said, I’ve had the same 2 manual can openers for over 30 years & they’re still going strong (probably because so many things are pop-top these days). I don’t think many appliance manufacturers are putting a lot of technology & thought into can openers since so many canned goods companies are going the pop-top route, but look into OXO products - they seem to do quality well.[/QUOTE]
I apologize for taking so long to answer. Due to circumstances beyond my control, I haven’t been at the computer in a while.
I feed Wellness and they do not have the pop tops.
Thanks everyone.
It looks like I will be searching out Swing Away or Oxo.
Off to ebay now.
PS–my cats will be thanking you all.
