Donella, your post seems a little harsh. I have been part of the registry for 10 years and I know nothing of its past split (or rip-off, as you called it). Furthermore, it is mostly irrelevant to me. Does it sound like there was some shady business way back when? Yes. But…Ancient history. Nobody said the GOV had to come here, they could have just left the ISR/Old alone and continued to use their “O” brand everywhere else.
It would be more confusing to now change the name to something completely unrelated- causing great woe and cost to all the breeders who have used them (and all the owners of the horses that would then become “formerly known as an Oldenburg of North America”- haha)
