I’ve gotten a lot of TDs on this thread, too. Some people need to lighten up!
I think everyone who posts on this thread is getting thumbs down from someone who thinks they are very clever. Just goes to show how stupid and petty the thumbs really are.
So apart from the 14 up and downs I got from the posts on this thread yesterday, my Secret Santa alter post got a thumbs up and the notifications told me the title of the post.
I do not normally title my posts, but that was kinda cool that it told me which one it was. I guess that was what Simke (I think it was Simke) was trying out figure out a few pages back
ETA: just got 3 more. I guess I have more than one thumbstalker.
well, teh good news is that the “ratings” page only holds a certain number of ups/downs so they eventually fall off the page… so good or bad depending on how many thumbstalkers you have i suppose!
i do hope the admins remove the thumbs down because lets face it - it serves no purpose other than giving the thumbstaklers something to do and making many of us feel sad 
I will say that it really makes this place seen very juvenile -
i think those of us who disilike the thumbsdown (esp because it is anon) should PM the mods letting them know what we think!
we need to make a ruckus because they will remove it if enough of one is raised… (see other threads where this was successful)
No ruckus is required. As we commented before, the thumbs down was instituted as a trial, which means we’d try it out and see how people liked it.
It seems that the feedback on the thumbs down is fairly universally negative, though we’ll probably conduct an official poll to give folks the opportunity to weigh in after they’ve had a chance to see how it works in “real life.”
We’ll be addressing thumbs and other questions after the development team works their way through the list of remaining glitches to fix since the first priority is to get everything working properly (search is fixed, but needs a small tweak; email notification still aren’t going out; thread views wonky, etc.)
Thanks for taking your time to provide your input here. We’re going to close this thread so folks are more likely to see this post/explanation, and we’ll post a poll on a new thread later if necessary.
