Can we talk weanling, yearling prices?

Hi, I’m looking to buy a weanling or even better a yearling TB, warmblood or warmblood X which looks like it wants to play in the hunter ring one day.
I don’t care about actual breed because as long as it wants to be a hunter, I don’t care the breed.
Could you tell me what they are going for? I haven’t horse shopped in a while and have never looked at one so young.
If it would be better to pm me that’s fine. I just want to get an idea of $.
Thanks in advance!

It really depends on quality and region. Expect to pay $10,000-15,000 for a H/J bred WB yearling.

I do see some TBxs that are very nice with a significantly lower price tag. Those are going for $5,000-10,000 depending.

several selling for $1K at the recent Keeneland sale, esp. the turfy ones

21, 43, 47, 48, 148 and 164 were my picks off pedigree alone for eventing/hunting and I bet the ones by Broad Bush/Include would make great little hunters. Some really nice Keeneland babies this year. No idea what they hammered for.

Really wanted the Rock Hard Ten one, and the mare that was by Dixieland Brass. Unfortunately just can’t justify more horses… I already have plenty! Lol.

I have seen so many horses that I want … but I’m at capacity and don’t have an empty pasture so I’m safe!

$12k seems to be the sweet spot for purpose-bred WB weanlings that are very nice, but not spectacular.

I am coveting a future hunter superstar weanling filly in California who is for sale at 15k. The only reason she isn’t mine is I literally have nowhere to put her.
