Can you repair plastic jumps?

Anyone know if its realistic to try to fix broken plastic wings and gates, that sort of thing?

Depends how badly broken and how much you like working with epoxy.

might try using acetone,

“Fusing plastic with acetone” refers to the process of joining pieces of plastic together by applying acetone to the surfaces, which essentially dissolves the plastic slightly at the contact points, allowing them to melt and bond when pressed together; this method works best with certain plastics like ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), commonly found in Lego bricks, where acetone acts as a “glue” by temporarily dissolving the plastic edges to create a strong bond.

If you know someone who can weld you can get plastic welding rods and weld them. I did that on some of my pvc standards. It wasn’t easy tho and was really a pita.

Can you just throughbolt pieces of sheet metal to stabilize the broken bits? Or are they broken-broken

They are broken-broken, with parts missing, so I think the solution is clear: landfill :confounded:

I’d salvage what I could but yeah, landfill for a good portion of it. Bummer!

Indeed. Plastic jumps are IMO the worst :frowning:

I thought jumps were usually PVC or PE? Neither of which would be able to “glue” together with acetone.
