Can you resole Dankos?

Anyone know? The uppers are in great shape, but I’ve managed to walk the bottoms uneven, so now I just fall down a lot when I’m wearing them!!

Does anyone know if you can resole those monsters? I’m thinking not, but I figured if anyone knew it would be horse people or nurses, and I know more horse people than nurses!

I’ve never tried, mostly because every time mine get to that point, the tops are scuffed to bits, too, and it’s money better spent to just buy new ones. I wonder if a regular cobbler would do it or if you’d have to send them back to Dansko?

I will say though that I no longer buy Danskos- the last time I went in I tried them on (thankfully, usually I just grab the box with the same kind I always get and pay) and they just felt weird. They were really stiff and pinched the top of my feet. When I commented the sales lady said that Dansko had a new design, because they didn’t own the design of their old model, a company called Sanita did, and Sanita had taken the design (or rights to the design, I guess?) back and was now manufacturing them themselves. So I tried on a pair of Sanitas, and they felt just like my old Danskos! That was about 2 years ago and I’ve been buying Sanitas ever since. They look identical to my old Danskos and are just as comfortable, and I think they were even a little cheaper than the Danskos the last time I bought them.

A bit OT but just wanted to say thanks so much for this tidbit. I used to LOVE danskos but stopped wearing them a year or so ago because I experienced the same problems. I’m definitely trying for Sanitas next time I need new comfy walking shoes…

Yes. My husband has had his resoled a couple of times at the local cobbler, they couldn’t put an entire new composite bottom on, but they can build up the worn spots, make them more even and put a new tread on them. He’s neither a horse person nor a nurse, he just likes them because they are easy on and off.

Agree on the Dansko/Sanita situation. If you want a pre-2007 Dansko, you need to buy a Sanita, because of licensing issues.

I get mine here…they sometimes have some good sale and seconds prices:

Yes Dansko Professionals can be resoled using a complete new bottom. shoerepairnashua.net
