I don’t get it. Is the 2022 world championship squad listed there to remind us of who went to the WEGs? Is that the list we should be looking at or is it the national squad list?
On a positive note - I noticed Jessie P posted a video of Watson GS, which must mean he’s being brought back after his injury (not sure what happened but we didn’t see him last season). I love that horse and I imagine he’d be a real contender too.
Maybe the list is from results January to December 2022, which included the World Equestrian Championships?
For me, I would look at the National and Development Lists. I’m excited to see the strong athletes Canada is supporting.
Notably, neither Mike Winter (Worlds team member) nor Lisa Marie Fergusson (alternate for the Worlds team) is on either list.
Interesting! I am shocked about MW.
Jessie mentioned she plans on aiming for Badders with Wabbit in an article. So exciting to have a Canadian heading there for 2023.
I agree with you Jealhoushe regarding MW - I’m not sure why he wasn’t included on the National team or the Development squad.
As to LMF, I can only speculate that her withdrawals from both Rebecca Farm and Maryland may have influenced the decision about her placement on the team, but ……
Glad I’m not the only one confused by the lists.
I did wonder if the horses had been sold and that’s why they aren’t on the list now.
P.
I see she just bought a fancy new import, hopefully a new horse for Canada’s future!
LMF had poor results (and an online tantrum). But I don’t understand why Mike Winter was off, unless there was a technicality or his horse got sold…
Mike Winter still has El Mundo
The criteria for both lists is very black and white:
I do not believe the 2 obvious omissions met the stated criteria.
Thank you!
Thank you - pretty well states the reasons for selection.
What criteria didn’t Mike Winter and El Mundo meet? Sorry if I missing something obvious!
The scores I believe.
