Has anyone ever heard of a hunt club in canada or even better yet , specifically
Manitoba or Ontario ? I am baffled lately in my absolute lack of ability to find anywhere to try a hunt with here and was hoping that I might find one somewhere in the vast collective knowledge that is COTH. Thanks in advance
There are several hunt clubs in southern Ontario. Caledon-Eglinton Hunt, Toronto Hunt, Hamilton Hunt, one in the Waterloo area, London Hunt, I don’t know if Ennisclare is still operating? There maybe also one around Ottawa and one or two around Montreal, Quebec. I know you said Manitoba or Ontario, but outside Montreal, Hudson, is not far from the Ontario border. Good luck in your search.
If you go to the sticky at the top of this hunting thread, it has useful links on how to find a hunt, where to buy equipment etc
There is a FANTASTIC hunt club I’m part of in Calgary. The Calgary Hunt Club. Incredibly cheap to join and the most fun anyone could have on horseback. The season started on Sunday.
Beaver Meadows Foxhounds in Quinte Region. Ottawa Valley Hunt. Both are on FB. Also a group on FB Foxhunters of Canada.
You guys are awesome
I have hunted with Beaver Meadows–once there and once here in our territory. What a great group of people and an amazing pack. If you want to talk to someone there, PM me and I will put you in touch with a couple of members?
I go out sometimes with the Wellington Waterloo Hunt Club
There is no hunting west of southern Ontario. Here is a map that shows all of the locations of recognized hunts in North America,
Depending on your exact location, maybe you could go to Long Lake Hounds in Minnesota. There are probably some unrecognized hunts that actually hunt with hounds as well.
British Columbia is definitely West of Ontario…its a drag hunt. And not recognized. But does appear to be foxhunting.
