Canadian TV coverage?

Will there be any? Looked on CBC Bold website and doesn’t look like they will be covering it…

Really? I was assuming they would. They did such a great job covering the last WEG’s and the Beijing Olympics. Waahh :frowning:

I emailed BOLD two weeks ago to see if there was coverage–so far no reply.

I bet that like everything at WEG, the cost associated with obtaining the feed will put it out of budget.

How about web coverage? For the Olympics, NBC’s online coverage was great - only problem: it could only be watched in the US.

If anybody could post a link where to watch online in Canada, it would be much appreciated as I haven’t figured it out yet.

FEI TV outside USA

FEI TV does blackouts…USA is blackout for WEG but I do not know if Canada is blackout for WEG.
I watched the European Championships last fall on FEI TV and it was really good.

FEI TV After The WEG?

Does anyone know if the WEG events will be available to folks in the US after the WEG is over in an archived form.

I have e-mailed Bold as well and not received a response.

I just read the Jump Canada August e-newsletter and they provide info about lots of showjumping to be televised on CBC and OLN…but no mention of WEG’s. :frowning:

CBC Network will be covering WEG. It was announced during the Nations Cup at Spruce.

CBC Sports - a couple of hrs - CBC Bold - nothing

I just got off the phone with CBC Audience Services, after I did not get a response to 2 messages …

Coverage is as follows:

CBC Sports - Sat. Oct. 9 @ 2 pm (a couple of hrs the attendent said)

CBC Bold - nothing.

Very disappointing. :frowning:

Wow - VERY disappointing about the lack of Canadian coverage. Will FEI TV be airing it on the internet at least?

That’s pathetic! Couple of hours?! For something that is going on for days! Ugh… terrible!

I wonder that happened with Bold. They did both Aachen and Beijing but now nothing?

What exactly is the point of Bold anyway? Used to be Country Canada. Then it was Bold and it carried sports like sailing and equestrian and cultural things (looked like they were going after a certain demographic). Now they just broadcast weird stuff. Well, other than Q. But I listen to Q so I don’t really need to watch it too.

I just received this e-mail:

We are pleased to let you know that the World Equestrian Games has been added to the Bold TV schedule beginning on September 26/2010, with broadcasts also on the 30th, Oct. 1, 2 and 3. All our coverage is live with 18.5 hours in total.

Please consider browsing our website www.cbc.ca/bold for daily highlights and updates.

Sincerely

Maza Molar

So be of good cheer kiddies…we will have some coverage!!

Thank you Bold.

YIPPEEE!!!

Thank you sisu27 you made my day!

THANK YOU CBC BOLD!

If you download a program like Hotspot shield, you can watch all the programs from the US even if you are in Canada. I use it all the time to watch shows, and I’ll use it for WEG as well. Can’t wait!

Note to self… need to call and change programing lineup with cable company before WEG…

Blog for Canada at WEG?

Is there a blog this year?
A guy wrote a fantastic blog from Hong Kong and I think from the Pan Ams too.
I do not remember his name…but is was fun and filled with the ups and downs of preparation and the competion.
A real back stage seat.
There is one going now on the British WEG page.

THANK YOU airbourne1!

And regarding the blog, I but couldn’t find anything (yet!)… Mike Gallagher was the chef de mission in Hong Kong but now he’s Equine Canada’s President.

There’s a blog with daily updates from event team rider Stephanie Rhodes-Bosch: http://professionalridersorganization.blogspot.com/2010/09/saturday-at-canadian-event-team.html
