Canadians stake out turf

Canadians have staked out their turf outside the Olympic village with a huge red moose.

We also have our own Luckie Loonie for these games, a tradition dating back to Salt lake City when a loonie was slipped into the ice for luck, and we won the Gold in hockey.

Way to go Canada for showing our spirit.

And it is not even Thanksgiving.

WOOT! Go Canada!

Any pics of the big red moose? And do we know where the lucky Loonie is?

P.

Hmmm - wonder where it is? All the athletes will be given a loonie…it is a neat tradition being formed.

Here is the Canadian team blog with pictures of the Olympic Village, Canada Place AND the MOOSE!

Looks like the Equestrians are getting a lot of coverage this year, so happy about that!

Now, tell me - doesn’t that make you feel all excited? No? OK - different strokes for different folks! I can succumb to idealism.

Is it one of Lastman’s moose’?

As sappy as it may be, I love this promo:

“Lastman’s moose” - I hope they are FIRST!

lol I wondered if there were any Lastman moose (meese) left. Weren’t they all auctioned off? Named after the former mayor of Toronto (Mel Lastman) who was “in” when the moose took over the city.

Love the promo!! I miss the “I believe” song from the Vancouver Games though.!
And Adam V. ! Yummy!!

how about this one?

There is one on the roof of a business in the south end of Barrie. You can see it from the 400.
