Cannot Access Forums with Internet Explorer? Only with Firefox?

I have had some trouble for a while where I could not click on the “enter the forums” button, but had to go to the bottom of the page and find Chronicle Forums typed in tiny font. I would click that and then I could connect (with IE).

Now that tiny font Chronicle Forums is not there anymore and there is no way to access the forums from IE.

I am on Firefox now and that works fine. Just click on the Enter Forums box and I am in.

Trouble is, I use IE more than Firefox. Any ideas about what to do?

Bookmark the forums?

If you hover over “voices” in the banner on the main page, the forums is an option.

Perhaps I am not understanding how you get here?

I do have the forums bookmarked, but what opens is the “cover page” and I have to click “continue to forums”.

I always did that, using IE or using Firefox.

A while back, clicking “Continue to Forums” on IE dropped me down to the very bottom of the cover page where all kinds of things are written in very small font. Like Horses for Sale, Clinics, oh I can’t remember them all, and Chronicle Forums was just one of the things in one of the columns. So I could click on that in IE and the forums would open up.

Yesterday, very mysteriously, when in IE, if I clicked on “Continue to Forums” I was dropped down to the bottom of the cover page, but the little columns of topics in small font had changed. Much fewer choices and Chronicle Forums was not there. I exited out of IE to check if I could access the forums through Firefox, and I could.

Just now, after checking e-mail, etc. on IE, I figured I would see if I could get into the Forums without having to exit and re-open with Firefox. And, just as mysteriously as my sudden inability to access the forums from IE, I can now do that again. I am still dropped down to the bottom of the cover page, to all of the columns of various topics in small font, but all of the topics are there again, including Chronicle Forums.

I will never understand computers.

What is your bookmark? I have never seen a “continue to forums” page. Perhaps you have a very old bookmark that is redirecting to the current page?

Okay, I will change my bookmark. Maybe yours will work. FYI, here is what I have been using: http://www.chronofhorse.com/article/welcome-chronicle-forums

You will see in the middle of the page, a dark green box “Continue to Forums”. That is the box that stopped working a while ago when using IE. It re-directed me to the very bottom of this page (scroll down) to the columns of various topics. Do you see under “VOICES” – Chronicle Forums? That is what I had to click when using IE in order to access the forums.

I changed my bookmark and now I will turn off the computer and re-start and then I’ll see how things go. Thank you so much!

I think changing your bookmark should solve the issue, as she suggested. For ease of typing/remembering, if I’m not opening via bookmark, I admit to always typing our old www.chronicleforums.com address, which still works to redirect to the “real” forums URL, http://www.chronofhorse.com/forum.
