Cannot upload profile pic

I’ve been trying to upload a new profile picture for several weeks now, and when i hit upload and save or whatever, it just takes me to a dead web page and says something like “this page cannot be found, please check your link” or something along those lines.

I have tried to do this from 3 different computers, tried several different pictures, all within the size range they are supposed to be.

What am I doing wrong now that I didnt do wrong the first time I did this?

Hmmm…are you trying to upload the picture from a website or from your computer? If it’s a website, is it one that requires a password to gain access?

If you haven’t already, try putting a picture file on your computer’s desktop and try uploading it from there.

I’m having the same problem, and I am trying to upload from my computer’s desktop. I first tried this month’s ago though, and gave up until recently thinking it was a server issue.

TheJenners, I’m guessing you’re experiencing trouble trying to change your profile pic, as there is a picture currently displayed in your profile–yes? Or have you been able to ID the problem since posting?

Yes, I’m trying to replace the picture there with another. Nothing doing though .

An update in case other folks are having similar trouble:

TheJenners sent me an undoctored version of the photo she was trying to upload to her profile. I resized it on my computer to fit within the pixel range but then also had to reduce the quality when I saved it to fit within the KB parameters. To do that, you can go under the “advanced options” when you’re saving the file and move the slider to the left to reduce the quality/file size.

When you’re in your User Control Panel and trying to upload/change your profile pic, it gives you the maximum pixels and KB allowed for the file. Just play around with the picture you want to upload until its properties fall within that range. One way of checking the current properties of the file is by highlighting “properties” when you right click on the file you’re working with.

Ok, so i looked at the photo, and yes it is under the KB amount listed, so the size shouldnt be an issue.

when i click to save the photo, it takes me to a page that says this:

Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

ok. got it to work…had to make it really small…however it did fall under the right size the first go round…checked it twice…
