Can't Access the Off Topic Thread

Help! I suddenly can’t access Off Topic Thread. I logged in, as usual, picked up my notifications about new posts on the OT thread, but, when I tried to go there, got this message: “Sorry, you’re not authorized to access this [or words to that effect].” Tried several times and got the same message. I am using the same system; don’t use my phone for reading forums online.

Then, when I tried to send a message to the Administrator, I got a message saying, “Admin is not receiving PMs.” Okay, so how do I get help with this problem?

I was able to log in yesterday/last night, so what’s with this sudden change? Am I banned or something? And, if so, why?

I figured out a back door workaround and posted there. But, would still like to know why I can’t get there directly Mods.

Try it again but slowly, type your name and password and let the filters get around to reading the information, as long as it takes them.

I found out a few times if I click fast, it doesn’t go thru.

For me this has meant that one of the posts that is in the notification has been removed.

The thread is still there, just the ability to link to it from the notification about posts does not work.

It has nothing to do (in my case) with the fact that the thread is in any specific forum.

Thanks guys! Bluey, I can get fat fingered with the best of them, but multiple attempts at slow careful typing produced the same results. trubandloki, I figured out a back door and that’s working, but, you’re right, going thru the notifications doesn’t.

Oh well, I’m in and posting. It’s very odd.

You just can’t access the thread from that particular link, because it points to a post that doesn’t exist anymore. You can get to the thread from the actual forum. Or from another notification generated by a non deleted post.

It sounds like the notification you received was for a post that was deleted (either as spam or removed by the user). Can you go to the forum home page and access the OT forum directly that way?

What is the username of the account you were trying to PM? This account is the one to use for PMs.
