I posted a message on Jan 4 and have been unable to post a relply. I type my reply message and when I hit “submit” it is erased and I am brought back to the thread. It looks like my posting rules in this thread say you “may not” post any reply. Why is this? I have never had a problem posting a reply in the past. Did I do something wrong? I have been trying to reply to all the people that have been kind enough to respond to my post but am unable to do so.
Hmmm…that’s odd. I checked the thread you’re referring to and there’s no reason you shouldn’t be able to post (the thread’s not closed, I did a test post to make sure it worked, etc.).
Have you tried posting on another thread since then? Everything looks to be fine with your account, and you were able to start this thread without a problem.
Give it one more go, and see if it still isn’t working. Try posting on this thread again to see if that works too.
I can sign in under your account to see if I can figure it out that way, but I’ll have to reset your password to do that, so we’ll have to coordinate that effort if it’s necessary.
You can also try clearing your computer’s cache, which sometimes works as a cure for mystery glitches!

O.K., this is so very weird…I went back to my thread “is it time to throw in the towel?” and tried to post a reply. I typed my reply but when I hit “submit reply” it took me to a log in screen and said I was not logged in. I know for sure I was logged in before I hit “submit”. I then used my back arrow and it changed my posting rules (small box in left hand corner). The posting rules stated “may not” for posting, replies, etc. Very strange! I had no trouble at all when I originally started that thread nor with this one. So for some reason I am not staying logged on when I try to reply and it changes my posting rules?
And it only seems to be that thread. No problem with this one. I think I will just give up on that thread!
Do you use AOL as your browser when you’re using the forums? We’ve historically had some issues with AOL not keeping people signed in, etc. (see thread stickied at top of “help” forum.
If everything else is working for you and you’re OK bailing on the other thread, OK, but if you have any other trouble, or just want to figure it out, please keep us posted so we can help work out the kink!
