Can't start new thread in Firefox 23

It’s a sporadic problem and is very recent–last couple of days.

I can edit just fine, post on threads, and can start a new thread in IE without problems. But very occasionally, the New Thread button doesn’t appear on my screen after I login. It’s obviously a Firefox 23.0.1 problem with XP, SP3 and the Chronicle software.

Oh, I cannot download my PMs in Firefox. Have to use IE for that.

I can’t even read the forums in FFox. And Explorer looks like it’s formatted for a portable device not a computer?

I still don’t have “New Thread” in Firefox.

Still can’t start new threads in Firefox 23, and now (maybe since this started), I also don’t have access to icons and editing functions like quotes in replies, both quick reply and advanced reply.

PLEASE don’t force me to use IE! Also I still can’t download my PMs in Firefox.

viney, this is very weird. Is it something with your adblock? Have you tried disabling that?

I’m on the beta channel of firefox, so I’m on v 24, but I never had any of the issues you’re experiencing when I was on 23. Maybe try the beta?

Disabling adblock edge did solve the problem, but now loading is very, very slow. I’m not sure that it’s a good alternative to keep.

Well, at least you know what the problem is–it’s your adblock, not the board.

What adblock are you using? Is adblock edge the name of the add-on? I’d get rid of it and go with adblock plus instead.

So I removed Adblock Edge and replaced it with Adblock Plus. All I got from that was the green thumbs up button, and now that’s gone . No “start new thread” or “reply to post” buttons. No buttons on the quick reply button bar.

I suppose it might be possible to identify each element on the page and unblock the ones that I want.

Might try that next. It worked. I put in exception filters for a couple of items and got everything back.
