Capitol Challenge Livestream

The stream is so bad. ClipMyHorse is a pox on equestrian sports

It has been so glitchy this week. And this morning is no exception.

Did anyone catch all who is on the three judging panels, I heard only the last one just as I was turning it on.

Panel 1. Tony Sgarlata and Rob Beilefeld
Panel 2. Andrea Wells and Geoff Case
Panel 3. David Beisel and Grace Koch(?)

I was sure there’d be Lenehan, J. Walter Lee, you know the regulars.

I’m glad it wasn’t just me - glitch is being kind, it just stops and hangs and then suddenly starts up again. Or doesn’t.

Mine as well.

Mine preferred to loop back, unless it decided to skip a horse and jump forward! It was slightly better today thankfully.

Yes, the video was way behind the live results, which is also annoying, lol.

In CMH’s defense, as I understand it, they’re just the platform that broadcasts the livestreams. They’re not responsible for the streams themselves, coming from the shows – that’s on whatever provider and infrastructure the show uses.

Customer Service response is better. Only took a day. For what it’s worth the big eq final sure did have a big shake up in the final order in round 2! Maddie Tosh looked very nice and won.

Yes thank you for saying it, unless it’s an issue with the CMH website itself they are not the ones responsible for the quality of the stream! I personally love CMH because you can view clips by rider/horse so easily!

YABBUT we used to get it as a part of our membership with USEF, and while we can watch small screen only for free, we get none of the other perks unless you pay for a separate CMH account.
I though USEFNetwork by and large did a much better job

That said, holy cow there have been some amazing trips

As someone who’s “geographically challenged,” I appreciate having access to so many shows. And as a total dork, the ability to watch my tribe in the weenie height divisions, too!

Did you link your USEF account to CMH? That will give you the ability to watch USEF Network streams full-size.

A beef I have had with CMH and USEF is the lack of clarity about what members can and cannot see. And the archived stuff from USEF Network was hard to find and not yet complete the last time I went digging around there, notably for the Stacia/Rutledge Farm clinic.

And last year, I got super mad because I had been watching Lake Placid (I think) and discovered that some replays weren’t available to me. I had been under the impression that it was a USEF Network stream and I am a USEF member.

Welp, here was the fine print. SOME but not all of the show was available as USEF Network programming, and the classes I wanted to see on-demand were CMH-only.

This wasn’t clear and I thought pretty sh*tty-confusing.

Overall, the CMH interface isn’t the most intuitive and the relationship with USEF Network has been a rocky road. That you need to sign up for the free level of CMH is an added step I’ve felt that I think muddies the waters unnecessarily. I went through the same circus to get my USEF membership linked with a free CMH account that I already had – and had a lot of the same problems so many other people report.

CMH offered me a half price sub, maybe two years ago, and I took it. Overall, I’ve felt like I’ve gotten my money’s worth.

Has anybody checked out the streams from Horse & Country? I heard they were doing Brave Horse in OH and at least one other?

YES I LINKED MY ACCOUNT…its still terrible in my opinion

I’m sorry; I misread you as saying you could only watch USEF streams in the small window, too

I thought of this thread when I was watching in the indoor today.

They were showing the live stream on the Jumbotron at the end of the ring, and I noticed they kept changing camera angles all the time. Even in between jumps in the same line.

It seemed like a huge distraction to me, especially compared to the experience of watching it in person.

If you’re sitting in that ring, you’re seeing all the jumps from the same angle. Not ten different angles.

It was frustrating me because I was struggling to make sense of the course as a whole.

I’m not saying it isn’t cool to see the horses and riders and some fences super close-up sometimes, but I’d really like to see the whole thing, too. The option to see big picture vs small would be a dream, like racetrack replays give you the option of head-on vs pan.

CMHTV fixed the 3’3” jump medal class - you can watch the work off now.

Don’t like how they are zooming in so tight. Need to see more approach to the jumps.
