Cat Friendly Hotel/Motel in the Toronto Area?

I am trying to find motel/hotel accommodations for myself and three house cats in the Mississauga area. The problem is I can’t find any that doesn’t require caging when you are away from the room. I need to visit a relative in the hospital so they would be on their own for the afternoon. Every single one I’ve called won’t let them remain out of their cages when I’m not there. I don’t consider that pet friendly.

Am I out of luck???

Consider it from their point of view. Animals safely confined in crates don’t damage the room and don’t bite their employees, or escape!

What about bringing a collapsible, big wire dog crate (or two) so your cats aren’t confined to small travel crates, but they are safe?

Cat urine smells forever. I don’t blame them.

Product called Nature’s Miracle…eliminates the odours permanently.

Do you guys have a La Quinta up there? They are known for begin an animal friendly chain.

If I were you, I’d let them know about my cats and then put them in the bathroom for the afternoon. I wouldn’t make a big deal of asking about what happens when you aren’t there. I’d also put up a Do Not Disturb sign.

Putting them in the bathroom limits the kind of damage they can do but lets the cats have something closer to a 5-star experience.

This scenario is lying by omission, of course, but also doing your part to insure that the hotel isn’t getting screwed.

you think a Hotel wants cat urine smell in there at all? And NO, nothing gets the smell out. We had to rent a cheap apt when building our house and it smelled like cat. i tried for a few weeks to get that smell out. nothing worked. i spent a lot of money to get rid of the smell and it is not going to happen.

Meh. As the title of this thread suggests, I’m just looking for cat friendly hotels or motels that don’t require pets to be caged when I’m not in the room.
