Cat Trees/Condos for Bigger size cats

Any recommendations or suggestions on where to look for affordable cat trees for larger size cats? I don’t necessarily have big cats but I want platform’s and condos that are bigger than 12"x12", I want them larger and roomy. Everything I’m finding on google isn’t necessarily for large cats, or so the pictures show small cats/kittens and measurements aren’t all that big. Only pet store we have is a Petsmart, so I’ve been looking online.

Do you own or rent? We are considering building our own kitty entertainment center. You can search for plans online.

Check out Wayfair.com search new cat condos. The reviews generally tell you what size cats the climbers have been used for. I have this one http://www.wayfair.com/New-Cat-Condos-72-Premiere-Solid-Wood-Skyscraper-Cat-Tree-110090-NCQ1339.html and I think it could accommodation your cats quite well.

We own, just hate to add another project to hubby’s long list of projects. Was looking for something we could buy and assemble. Thanks for the Wayfair suggestion.

I got ours from Drs. Foster and Smith. Much better quality than what was available in the stores at the time.

the Siamese Mafia enjoy several of these cat trees, and can recommend the ones with top tubs for your large economy size puddytat.

Amazon and Overstock.com have a plethora of all sizes of cats trees at good prices.

Op one thing to look for when checking cat trees out online is what materials they are made of and what they are covered with. Many the posts are cardboard carpet roll and are covered in cheap faux fur not carpet. They get loose and wobbly over time and you have to tighten them, eventually you get the leaning tower effect as the cardboard starts to give. With the faux fur the resting areas are often quite hard. I prefer carpet covered and wood post construction which is why I like the New Cat Condos. The Molly and Friends line has the same construction but they are much more expensive and don’t have as wide a selection of colors.

Check out this thread for recommendations. In Post #10, I recommended Bob’s Cat Trees from a blogger who has Maine Coons.

furwood forest is a big hit among the Maine Coon breeders. I have one and it is 100% stable with one coonasauras (very large, even for a MCC) and one regular size rambunctious MCC youngster

and this is why no cat tree with a normal base works with Maine Coons. And yes, I still don’t know how the tree and cat didn’t go crashing through the window…

This cat tree is awesome. We’ve had it for over a year and it still looks great. Our 25 pound kitty (yes, he’s HUGE) hops all over it without issue, and our two little cats (less than ten pounds) love it too. It even withstands the springer spaniel jumping on it when the cats get too rowdy.
