There’s another woman in Hamilton that rescued a starling and Mario’s staff introduced us.

That is true too. I know my mom had several cats that wanted it clean before they would use it. Hard to do if your not home to clean it!! I am one of those people who had to clean it as soon as it was used. I just couldn’t stand it.
I have a kitty with the poop outside the box issue - hers started after a horrible bout with constipation. I figure it was painful for her to poop and she associated the box with discomfort, so she started going outside the box. I put pee pads (or the equivalent human version) in front of the box(s) and she never misses the pad (good kitty!). I have three boxes for 3 cats that are cleaned at least once a day, often more frequently.
