I had to get a pair last night as my TB has a shoe that is loose and I don’t want him to yank it off before the farrier gets here. I think they fit, but they seem SO clunky…does anybody actually ride in them? And what about rubs. So far so good but he’s just been turned out in them for about an hour.
One of the most common reasons hoof boots fail is because people get the wrong size. Hooves should be measured before you buy the boot so you’ll get a better fit. Hoof boots are not meant to be worn over steel shoes. Properly fitted boots work very well for my horses. I have Old Macs Hoof boots and my horses move just fine in them…but they fit. BTW most boots are not meant for turn out although I CAN turn my horse our in his Old Macs I check on him often and remove them while he is stalled. They should never be left on 24/7

I have used cavallos for many years without rubs or any other problem. I usually clean them after each use, comb out the gunk on the velcro etc. Plus, I waterproof them with a nice softener/waterproofing agent so they stay pliable. I love them and my horse doesn’t seem to have a prob with them. Good luck!
I know that they are not intended to be left on for a long time or over steel shoes, but at the moment I don’t have a choice. I am leaving them on for a couple of hours at a time and bringing him in and leaving him in a stall during the “off” times. They just look so chunky that I can’t imagine that a horse would be very athletic when riding in them.

I used them with their liners with some success.
However I ordered my Hoofwings, which are customized for the horse, and they of course stay put without rubs or need for liners.
They cost a bit more but imho are worth it.
