Cavalor Feeds Calorie Counts

I emailed cavalor a few days ago, with no response. Does anyone have the calorie counts for wholegain, strucomix pony, shine and show, pianissimo, mash and mix, and fiberforce?

bump

My horse is currently eating Fiberforce and Wholegain. You’re probably more likely to get a response from a dealer/rep. Do you have one in your area?

FWIW–saw your other post about weight gain, WholeGain DOES contain puffed cereal grains and has corn. I love it, but if your horse is allergic, this isn’t the stuff for you. The Fiberforce, however, might be a viable option.

More than one horse, but thanks for the concern  I believe all of their grains contain corn, actually. But my other horses don’t mind!

I don’t know that all of them do, but several do. I love FiberForce. There’s a lot of hate for Cavalor by food snobs who don’t take the time to educate themselves with it, but I love it. It’s done wonders for my sensitive horse. Just finished a trial of WholeGain and saw positive results in 30 days.

ETA: FiberForce contains corn gluten meal. Essentially the byproduct of corn, which essentially has the proteins and not much else. Can’t speak for the rest of the feeds as I’ve only got experience with FiberForce and Wholegain, but I suggest contacting a rep. They won’t pressure you into switching, but can give great educational advice regarding the way in which their foods are made and how the horse absorbs their nutrients. Fiberforce has been magic for my horse!

Hmm, i wonder if he could stand corn gluten meal. I have gotten samples of their feeds, and loved them.

I was skeptical as my OTTB came to me on Fiberforce, but the price had me switching him to Seminole’s Wellness Perform Safe right away because that’s what my barn feeds and what my last horse ate. Believe it or not, he goes through the same monetary amount of FiberForce that he did Seminole, and with much better results. I’m sold and I love it. It’s not easy to get, only one feed store within 100 miles of me carries it, but it’s worth the monthly drive!

It tastes good. I’ve eaten both the FiberForce and the WholeGain. I hope something works out for your guy! It’s been a game changer for my boy. I regret the time I spent switching him. He was miserable when he was on the concentrate. Obviously every horse is different and Seminole is AWESOME, but for this particular horse, the FiberForce is just amazing.

Thanks for the review, I know a lot of people bash cavalor, but I can’t see why. I got a sample of the mash and mix, and after heated up, It smelled so good I wanted to eat it!

I did end up getting the feed counts for pianissimo and mash and mix, if anyone is interested.

I’m interested. I have a very hard keeper in my barn that is doing just “okay” on what he’s currently eating.

calorie count for mash and mix would be 1303, and pianissimo would be 1194.

I work for Cavalor and yes, those numbers are in MJ/KG. Cavalor is very different from extruded feeds in the way it is digested and utilized by the body so it’s not easy to compare just using calories. StormyDay, I PM’d you the correct information you are looking for. I see everyone from this thread is from FL so, although the FL Rep isn’t on the COTH forums, I did let her know about all your questions and she wanted to me to relay that you can email her at any time with questions or concerns. Her email is Micheline@cavalor.net. She is looking forward to helping you pick out the correct Cavalor feed for your specific horse.

Thank you Missy’s Toy!
