Hey everyone!
I am looking for advice on which warmblood stallion I should breed my PRE mare to. These crosses are really great for dressage. I am thinking Damsey FRH but wanted to know if anyone out there has done this crossing before. Also just which stallions do you think would cross well with a PRE. Helgstrand said that these crosses are going to be the future of dressage and he just bought a CDE horse this year. Anyway, just looking for some input. Thanks!
There’s a lot of variation in body type between PRE. Its a really nice cross though as are TB/Iberian. The horses definitely look Iberian.
Well I’ll tell you the stallions I would love to see crossed on a really nice PRE mare. Id Love to see a Belissimo M also I think Dauphin could really compliment a PRE mare. At the end of the day you have to look very seriously at what needs corrected in the mare so that’s where I would start. Then ask which stallions will improve those areas in your mare.
I think this is a very exciting development and so we will see what comes of it but I have to say having a really nice PRE myself I actually like a pure bred the very best and the quality of movement that has started to be produced in the last decade is IMO as good as the majority of the WB out there these days and the temperament cannot be beat again JMO.
