Cell phone holder for riding?

Another vote for cheapo yoga pants/leggings/tights with pockets, especially now that all front pockets on all jeans are about an inch and a half deep.

My favorites at present are some New Balance running tights I got at TJ Max for a pittance, and several found at Aldi for 12.99. One of the Aldi leggings has a back waist zipper pocket as well that would work for money, a key, ID or such.

All are extremely comfortable to ride in and except for the absence of knee patches look exactly like pricey riding tights. There’s a gazillion generic options on Amazon as well.

I carry my phone in a stout, simple leather case on my belt. I made the case myself but they are available in kit form from Tandy Leather and made up from many sources.

THANKS! I just rode with the Horse Holster the other day and HATED it. I have tights with a leg pocket for my phone, but also have a couple of other belt loop breeches with small or no pockets. I just ordered the Baker one.

I bought this one off Amazon and it works perfectly! The magnet is strong enough, the belt clip is sturdy and stays put nad it’s only $13.

So crazy. Someone else was just asking about cell phone holders in another forum and I really wanted to share this product but could not for the life of me remember the name of the product. Hope you enjoy. I find it to be very useful anytime I don’t have a vest pocket to work with.

I recently picked up a Fusion Belt to try for riding (initially intended for trail riding, but has become my everyday ride companion); it’s basically a very low profile fanny pack haha. It has 2 zippered pockets and is soft, elastic-y material that sits nicely around the waist without any discomfort while riding. During the summer it was nice to have something to hold my phone for music, etc while riding without having to shove the phone down the waist of my breeches!

Once you have a large phone in the pocket, it’s obviously not going to be as low profile anymore, but it has never been uncomfortable and I don’t even notice it when I’m riding.

I use the Horse Holster because I’m weird about having my phone near my organs  It is kind of weird on your thigh, but I prefer it to around my waist or especially near the bra area.

I bought a belt style phone holder for running/work out at TJ Maxx for about $8. I bought a 2nd one for riding. It has an elastic belt, and fits a big phone with room for extras like tissues I allergy season or a car key etc.

I was very excited to buy the Baker Govelope from Giddyup Gear on Oct 2 and received my order confirmation. It said I will receive notification when the item ships with free 2 day shipping. I have not received any further communication from the company. Emails to the owner and the general information email address for an update have gone unreturned and phone calls get sent to voicemail. The product I ordered now says Sold Out.

I opened a dispute with PayPal. Maybe the company will respond to me there? If not, I guess I can either get my money back by escalating to PayPal for their decision or going through my Bank to dispute the charges.

At any rate, I don’t recommend anyone purchasing from Giddyup Gear. If the shipment was delayed or the item became unavailable for some reason, I would expect communication from the company about it. I would love to support a fellow horse person but their customer service is quite lacking.

Thanks for the heads up, they were definitely on my list.

I love my riding tights that have pockets at the front, I can stick my phone in there and play music while I’m riding (has been helpful at getting my blood up to be confident enough to canter around in the big pasture since i’m a wuss now). I’ll need to find something else to use as it gets cold though, I don’t think the tights will be warm enough to ride in the winter. I have the horse holster but it drives me crazy. Might have to try it on my calf though.

Do. It drove me nuts as well when I first got it. I even reviewed it poorly on their website initially, specifically for that reason - that it was a poor fit to wear on your thigh and did nothing but slide/migrate down.

But then I thought huh, and put it at the top of my calf, over my my tall boots, and voila! Problem solved. I am now very happy with it and will replace it once it has worn out. I’ve had mine a number of years now and the velcro has held up quite well both for the cover and on the strap.

Do you just clip it to the top and wrap the strap around your boot?

@FatCatFarm this is totally off topic but boy is your horse a tall glass of something delicious!

Thank you. I adore him!

Wow. I just realized my habit of stashing my phone in my bra is pretty ghetto (summer boob sweat/inconvenient in winter). Looks like it’s time to up my game.
