I’m looking at re-fencing my paddock / dry lot – which is an almost perfect 120 x 120 square on three sides, with the barn making the fourth side. I just saw that Home Depot now has Cenflex flexible rail fencing and supplies … and if you choose ship-to-store and pick up at the store, you get free shipping.
Has anyone else ordered through Home Depot? Any thoughts?
(I also can get 24-month free financing on my HD card, so …)
Wow, it would be great if they started selling more Centaur products. Pricing seems to be a touch higher than through a distributor but that would offset itself in freight expense. I’ve used Home Depot alot for home improvement stuff and prefer them over Lowes. Have not used them for fencing supplies but I can’t imagine having issues with them.
That size area is almost as cheap to fence with nice portable panels and you can re-model as you wish, use the panels later somewhere else or sell them.
Once used, they bring about the same than new.:eek:
May not be what you want, just more to think about.

Hi Bluey – the paddock borders the actual “lawn” of my home. I’d like something with a little more “curb appeal” than portable panels, though they definitely are a good idea. I won’t need portability because the paddock is … well … unless I move the barn and/or the house … the paddock stays where is / as is!
I put in Cenflex fencing last year and I love it!!
My farm website below my signature has pictures on the farm page. I had it professionally installed for the perimeter fencing with pounded posts. DH and I put up a small pasture ourselves with the posts also pounded in. It was fairly simple to put up, the only hassle being when you have to splice the rails together and when you have to brace the corner posts.
I went with brown rails on the posts so I wouldn’t have to paint. My posts are spaced 10’ apart and the top rails is 5’ high. We did buy the hotwire to go between the top and middle rail.
Did I mention that I love it?!!!
Saw this type fence over in La. after a few years the heat and wind caused it to stretch, and sag.

It might have been same type, but doubt it was Centaur if it stretched much. Heat and cold will cause some slight expansion and contraction, easily remedied by tightening or loosening. Just part of the minimal maintenance needed for it. But there are good and bad versions, and Centaur makes a very good product.
Thanks, Horsepoor. There is one version of flex rail that has you install the brackets by screwing through the rail…no way to tension it. Have seen several
such installs around here that make me want to get out with bolt cutters and cut it down. Any product not properly tightened and/or installed can look like s___
after time. Then I’ve seen Centaur fence up for over 20 years and still looks
great!
For a large store, there are some that are much closer, especially Comercial, Aurrera, and Bodega, and they are similar to WalMart (though not quite as large and not quite as cheap, but in the same ballpark). I shop at the other places simply because they are closer to where I live and the bus routes.
Although I just spent a very frustrating hour at HD returning an online purchase , I’d still say go for it. Free shipping and the ability to return to the store is really a good thing. I have no climb with a brown Centaur “top rail”. I’m very happy with it.
I did a small paddock with CenFlex as a test. Love it! Had the posts done professionally with the corners set in concrete. Did the rails myself. Easy peazy.
I ordered rails and parts from both HomeDepot and TractorSupply. Worked out great.
LOL I recall looking all over for an attachment to my rachet for the tensioners. Then realized that you just put the rachet head in the tensioners without any attachment at all.
I also used a bipolar HorseGaurd tape at the top, with a solar charger. Very pleased with this setup for paddocks.
