Champion Turf saddle

What can you tell me about Champion Turf saddles? I am going to look at one tomorrow night.

If it was made prior to 2010 or so, I love them!!! They did try to mass produce a saddle, Champion Turf Competitor, and it is not the same for sure. They have a narrower twist and typically fit the average stock horse. The tooling and silver patterns run from basic to detailed. They even made a reining saddle with marijuana plant tooling. Not for me, but I definitely could appreciate the craftsmanship. I felt like I was ‘home’ in them, but everyone is different. I believe they were bought out around 2010-ish, and you just don’t see them anymore. I hope it was well cared for and not the Competitor.

Thanks KayGee. I think it would be the late 80’s or early 90’s from the look of the conchos (which appear to be sterling or very good plate) It is a very unique saddle with overall shell stamping. It reminds me of a Blue Ribbon, and if it is as nice as the pics, a steal for the price. My Paint and QH are pretty typical FQHB, although I have a Billy Cook Pro Reiner that is a dismal fit for both of them. I am looking for an overall better fit.

I hope it works for you! Would love to see a pic if you pick it up.

Yes, to a vintage Champion Turf Goods saddle. I’d like to see pictures, too.

Good quality and sterling silver.

Kinda disappointed…past it’s best before, unfortunately. Loss of fleece on the bottom and an equitation seat, so I passed.
