Charles Owen My PS Helmet VS. Kask Starlady Helmet

In the market for a new helmet and am stuck between two! I have owned KEP Italia helmets in the past and really liked them but am having a difficult time finding a retailer in my area that carries them - not willing to buy without having it fitted.

I am now considering either the Kask Starlady or the Charles Owen My PS helmet. Has anyone tried the Charles Owen My PS helmet? It seems relatively new and I have yet to hear of anyone trying one out.

I have heard some good things about the Kask Starlady but like that the Charles Owen has MIPS.

Any thoughts are appreciated! If you guys have other helmet suggestions I am open as well! Of course purchase of helmet will depend on fit.

I haven’t tried the CO you’re asking about but I LOVE the star lady. I wound up going with a miss shield personally because I was being cheap, but I wish I would have gone with the star lady so I had ventilation.

Go for the one with MIPS since you only have one head.

Buy the one you can try on! And that fits the best. I know it’s frustrating to hear but it’s the truth. I was a die hard CO user but wanted to switch to something with a liner. The only helmet that fit was a Kask, so that’s what I went with.

I have the CO My PS. It’s very similar to the AYR8, which fits my head beautifully. It’s very much going to be an either fits or doesn’t helmet. It’s an oval shape and if it works for you, it’s fabulous.

For context, I tried pretty much every MIPS helmet available last Fall and this was the only one that fit me. If your head is less oval, you’ve likely got more options

I LOVE my Kask Starlady. I’ve had it for about a year and its still in great shape and fits very well. I find it comparable in shape to the GPA First Lady 2X I had prior to my Kask, but it sits down on my head more so it feels more secure to me.

I’m not sure what shape head you have, but I found the Kask to fit significantly rounder than the Kep I tried on, however the Kep did have the oval liner in it. I found the Kep comparable in shape to the CO GR8 aka WAY too oval for my head. I haven’t tried on the My PS, but I’m skeptical that even the round shaped one would work for my head. Honestly, I can’t see the same person fitting well into a regular (oval) shaped CO and a Kask.

I have Star Lady and just bought TraumaVoid Lynx (after trying the EO3 first, but too bubble head for me). Surprisingly, it is half the the price of Kask and fits me just as nicely. And has MIPS

I have the CO My PS with the wide brim, I’ve been riding in it since last helmet awareness weekend - I love it. I was almost torn between sizes and sized down, and I’m glad I did, after a few rides of it feeling too snug, it was perfect. It’s a great helmet, it fits very deeply and I feel safe because of the MIPS. I haven’t worn my OneK since I bought it, and now comparing them, the CO fits my head much better. The liner is removable, which I guess is new for CO.

It’s lightweight and comfortable, my only complaint is I would improve the ventilation - it’s not bad, it’s just not nearly as airy as my OneK, and I imagine the Kask would feel very well-ventilated. But, if the CO fits, that’s the one I would buy, because of the MIPS.

Oh - just for fit comparison - I’ve never tried on a Kask, but the CO fits much rounder than my OneK.

I have the My PS, and LOVE it! I even took a fall in my old My PS, and can say it 100% did it’s job, I had zero symptoms. I have tried the Star Lady on, and it did not fit me at all. so I think once you try them on they will make the decision for you.
