Hello - I have lived in Colorado the past ten years, but I am originally from Chattanooga. We are thinking of heading back to the south to be closer to family, and I’m wondering if there is any updated information for high level dressage trainers in the area. I have a 6 year old Oldenburg gelding and I’m looking to be in a more “serious” program. I grew up riding hunters in the area, but I am a dressage junkie now… Any info is super helpful!
Thanks so much in advance.
Bumping this in the hopes that someone may have any suggestions!
Howdy! I did a little bit of research for ya, and I did find a barn called Ryall Springs that is apparently a big dressage barn in that area! I don’t live in Chattanooga, but am a TN native. Best of luck!
I’m between Nashville and Chattanooga, but closer to Nashville. Dressage has always been a little sparse down there, but around Nashville we have a pretty healthy dressage group.
Chattanooga is a lovely city, not too bad a drive to Atlanta or to Nashville. Lots of fun things to do and see. I used to have to go there for work occasionally. I wish I could be more help.
There are a number of USDF Group Member Organizations (GMOs) in Tennessee. I am not familiar with the state, but you can look here and connect with the one closest to you. They will be a good resource! https://www.usdf.org/clubs/list.asp?TypePass=GMO
In case the page reloads to Region 1, you want to select Region 3.
Also, there is the Central TN Dressage Association. I belong to this group, and they put on some nice schooling shows and a couple recognized shows. Mostly we are all in the middle TN area, though. https://wordpress.tndressage.com/
I know Jessica Roberson Wright is not in the Chattanooga area, but she’s SE of the Nashville area in Bell Buckle, TN, which is just NW of Manchester. That may be worth the drive if you wanted to haul in for some lessons. https://robersonequestrianfacility.com/
Thank you everyone!!!
