Chewy Dog Food

Tractor Supply has free shipping on dog food purchases over $49 if you want home delivery instead of driving to the store

Yes, I might do that. But it’s only 5 miles away and no big deal to pick it up.

So Chewy has redeemed themselves. I sent them an email complaining about issues with their brand and their CSR, they refunded me the price of the last shipment I received.

Since then, I switched back to 4Health and the dogs have had diarrhea and vomiting. So I’ve gone back to my old standby for new rescues, Purina Pro Plan Senstive Skin and Digestion. No issues and the remaining scratching from dry skin (new to gas heat) is gone. I’ve ordered my next bag from Chewy. I know it’s not the best food, but it’s the one that works, and I’ve tried many of them, including the super premium foods.

I love pro plan.

I’m glad they redeemed themselves. I’ve had great customer service from them, but spoke to a not so great rep right around Christmas. She wasn’t hateful, but she was less than happy to help and totally different from what I have come to appreciate about their customer service.

If the dogs are better then that is good! Everyone has something to say about others dog food choices. A perfectly healthy dog who doesn’t have food complications absolutely give them something good to eat. However, I pick mine based on what doesn’t cause my dog to scratch himself into a bloody mess. I’m sure some people would find it a not great choice since it is a kibble (the horror), but my dog is happy on it and his skin isn’t irritated so pfft to them  I used to have a dog with a very sensitive stomach and Pro Plan was the only food that didn’t mess with her digestive system so I used that too. It isn’t the best, no, but it is definitely better than those Ol Roy type brands!

Glad Chewy did something about this situation for you. Hopefully smooth sailing from now on.

I wouldn’t have been so ticked off if it hadn’t been for the attitude of the CSR. I don’t have a long relationship with them…so it was really off putting. Now that I’m ordering a food that can be also purchased locally, it’s not a big deal if they’re out of stock…I’ll just run out and buy it. That is, unless it happens frequently.

I still don’t understand how they run out of stock on their own brand though.

Someone is making it for them and they’re putting their label on it. They’re not actually growing the ingredients and running the factory. Likely it is one of the other major manufacturers. So it’s not entirely in their control at all.

And sometimes you just goof and and miss the mark in estimating demand.

All true. But when they’re a single source supplier and they’re out it becomes a major inconvenice when you have a very picky eater. It just didn’t work out for me. Hopefully, the next delivery will, but it’s not like I’m in danger of running out if it doesn’t ship. But it did…I just checked, it shipped today.

ETA: And it will be here tomorrow, hopefully before the freezing rain starts.

Hey Laura! I am pretty sure I recommended their food to you. I’m sorry you had the problem with them and glad you got it resolved.
I just wanted to bring up that I actually just had a problem with them as well. It wasn’t actually them, Fedex has said they picked up my shipment but it has not left the Fedex facility for 3 days and with the free 1-2 shipping that was obviously missed. No questions asked, I just wanted them to call and yell at them or at least get me another bag of dog food, they immediately refunded the money to me with me just telling them my order number and asking them to look at the tracking. Of course the shipment left Fedex last night right after I talked to them. They said I could have it no charge after I contacted them again. If you have another problem with their shipment definitely contact them again. They bend over backwards to help.

I ordered the ProPlan from them and it arrived the next day. So all is good.

I know I ordered recently (may or may not be around the same timeline as you), and received an email shortly after getting my “your order has shipped” email explaining that there may be a delay in shipping due to bad weather conditions. They are located near where my brother lives, and I know he got hammered by a storm, so I wasn’t shocked. The order arrived a day late.
