I don’t know how many people saw this, and they don’t give the brand names, but here’s a story that I think dog owners should look at.
This is why anything that goes in my dogs’ mouths is “Made In The USA”. Food, toys, and treats. I don’t want my pets ingesting China’s leftover radioactive waste.
this is why I make/bake my OWN treats and goodies
shameless plug.

I first heard about these issues several years ago–probably the 2007 or 2008 date mentioned in the article. Curious we’re seeing an uptick in this again now.
Ditto the only made in the usa treats here. Actually, I just buy my dogs human jerky treats since it’s sometimes hard to tell where a treat actually comes from.
At the end of the article they noted that even “Made in the USA” commercial treats say “Made in China” in the tiny print on the back. I guess we just can’t win.

Hmm…I’ve seen beef jerky, venison jerky, buffalo jerky and chicken jerky. I hope they use only humane human slaughter processing for the human jerky.

I guess I could have worded that a bit better…lol.
Currently my dogs are snacking on venison jerky with me, thanks to my lovely neighbor who brought me a whole butchered deer.

 It’s entirely possible your dogs might be eating dog or cat jerky, given the source.
I personally would not be treating with human grade jerky there are nitrates and lots of salt. No one should be eating that stuff in my opinion.
homemade stuff is a different story.
I second what MunchingonHay says…I don’t feed the dogs (or humans) human jerky or processed meats. Nitrates and salt are nasty stuff. We only only eat things that are recogizable as food…meaning, I can look at it and tell what it is ;). It’s a piece of cow, or a piece of a chicken, or a piece of a pig, or a fish or a vegetable or whatever. There’s that Michael Pollan book with the basic theme of “eat food, lots of it, but only food”, or something like that. Problem is, most of us don’t recognize actual food any more ;).
